Brussel Sprout Poriyal

Ingredients:

  • Brussel Sprouts –1 cup (thinly sliced)
  • Grated coconut – ¼ cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Green chili – 1 no
  • Salt – to taste

Tempering:

  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  • Coconut oil – 2 tblsp
  • Onion – 1 no medium (finely chopped)

Procedure:

  • Take off the outer layer of the sprouts and slice thinly.
  • In a pan, heat some coconut oil. Add mustard and cumin seeds, allow it to splutter. Now add chopped onion with chopped green chilies. Saute for a while
  • Add the sliced sprouts and add salt to taste.
  • Sprinkle some water and cover it with a lid. Cook under medium flame for about 2-3 mins.
  • Meanwhile grind the coconut, cumin seeds and curry leaves finely and sprinkle the grounded mixture into the cooked sprouts mixture and turn off the flame.
  • Healthy and tasty “Brussel Sprouts Poriyal” is ready to serve.
