VEGGIE-BREAD CUTLET

VEGGIE-BREAD CUTLET

VEGGIE-BREAD CUTLET

Another common snack in our SI town. Most of us won’t do this at home because of various reason, due to un-availability of bread-crumbs/ mixed veggies/ the process and simply laziness. But here is the easiest way of making CUTLET at home within few minutes with simple procedures.

Ingredients:

Multigrain bread/ whole wheat bread             –          10 nos

Tri color/ green bell pepper/ capsicum                      –          1 (finely chopped)

Medium onion                                                        –          1 (finely chopped)

Ginger-garlic paste                                               –          1 tsp

Red chilli powder                                                  –          1 tsp

Garam masala powder                                         –          1 tsp

Chaat masala                                                           –          1 tsp

Salt                                                                             –          as req

Cold butter                                                              –          ¼ cup (optional)

Mild cooking oil                                                     –          for shallow fry

Procedure:

Step 1:

Heat a pan, add some oil and add the capsicum and onions saute for few minutes. Then add a tsp of ginger garlic paste and stir constantly.

Step2:

Add the red chilli powder, garam masala to the mixture and sprinkle some water to incorporate everything. Let it cook for a while and turn off the flame. Cool completely.

Step 3:

Meanwhile put the breads into the food processor/ mixie jar until powdered finely.

Step 4:

In a wide mixing bowl add the bread crumbs and masala mixture- mix it once and add the cold butter and rub it with your fingers until you won’t find any butter chunks. (Adding cold butter really gives you the flaky texture).

Step 5:

Now add some chaat masala and mix well finally and the texture should be crumble. Take a handful of bread mixture and hold in between your palms and shaped it as you like and repeat the process.

Step 6:

In a shallow fry pan add some mild cooking oil and once the oil get hot place the cutlets gently and allow it cook for about a min or so. Since we cooked the masala already, we just want to incorporate the bread, cold butter and the masala mixture so it takes about a min or so and flip it, let it cook for a min and place it gently over the serving plate and serve hot with some ketch up. njoy

NOTE/TIP:

Since we are adding bread and butter, these cutlets are Fragile.

There is no need of egg-wash or bread crumbs coating. If you wanted to do then it is purely optional

Those who are vegetarian then substitute corn-flour wash instead of egg-wash
