SEMIYA JAVVARISI PAYASAM/VERMICELI SAGO KHEER:

A classic SWEET combination from our down south .For every occasion we prefer semiya payasam is a must sweet. This sweet is served most often on marriage without Semiya payasam the wedding meal/ kalyana sapadu won’t fulfill. especially when we had this payasam with appalam/ papad or medhu vadai …..mmmm just delicious. i will make this very often and it takes only 5-7 mins hardly. when you had this payasam for sure you will feel heavenly. TRUST ME. A very easy-light recipe. you can do quickly without anyone’s help. This will save you most of the times, very instant and tasty payasam recipe as follows.

Ingredient:

  • Vermicelli/semiya -1/2 cup
  • Sago/Javvarisi -1/3 cup
  • Granulated Sugar – ½ cup
  • Cashews & raisins -10 nos
  • Milk -1cup
  • Water -1/2 cup
  • Cardamom/elaichi powder- a generous pinch
  • salt – a pinch
  • Ghee -1tsp

Procedure:

Step 1:

In a heavy bottomed kadai,roast the cashews ,raisins and vermicelli/semiya in ghee.soak the sago/javvarisi and keep aside

Step 2:

In a medium sauce pan add half a cup of water/milk and bring it to boil, add the soaked sago/javvarisi into the boiling water,when it starts cooking add vermicelli and let it cook for a while

Step 3:

Add sugar to the payasam mixture along with a pinch of salt –stir well until the sugar granules dissolves completely.now it’s the time to add the MILK

Step 4:

Bring it to boil, add a generous pinch of cardamom/elaichi powder along with roasted cashews and raisins. njoy the tasty,milky,delicious Semiya-Javvarisi /Vermicelli-Sago Payasam.

NOTE

  • you can substitute MILK instead of Water
  • add a pinch of salt will enhance the sweet flavor.
