ONE POT MEAL
Ingredients:
- Cracked wheat/ broken wheat – ½ cup
- Water – 1 ¼ cup
- Cracked black peppercorns – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Grated ginger – 1 tsp
- Asafetida – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Ghee/ clarified butter – 2 tsp
- Salt – to taste
Procedure:
- Wash the cracked wheat and add it into a pressure cooker vessel along with required amount of water, crushed pepper, cumin seeds, asafetida, grated ginger, curry leaves and 2 tsp of ghee mix well and pressure cook it for about 2-3 whistles
- Once the pressure has released add salt to taste and mix well
- The easy, tasty and healthy “One pot- CRACKED WHEAT PONGAL” is ready
NOTES/TIP:
- You can even add 1 tblsp of moong dhal along with cracked wheat; but this taste lighter
- You can add few ghee toasted cashews along with 1 tblsp of hot ghee before serving, on high calorie note
