Ingredients:
- Cracked wheat/ broken wheat – ½ cup
- Raw rice – ¼ cup
- Salt – to taste
- Gingelly oil – as req
- Water – as req
- Onion – 1 (medium-finely chopped)
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig (finely chopped)
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Crushed black pepper – 1 tsp
- Asafetida – ½ tsp
- Ginger – 1 tsp (finely chopped)
Procedure:
- Wash and soak the rice and cracked wheat for about 5-6 hours (ref pic)
- Grind it into a coarse paste (ref pic) with little water
- Later add finely chopped onion, curry leaves, ginger, cumin seeds, crushed black pepper, asafetida along with required amount of salt and water (ref pic)
- The consistency should be runny/ watery
- Heat a dosa pan and grease it with some gingelly oil, keep the flame on high while pouring the dosa mixture and turn down the flame to medium-low to cook uncovered for about a 2 mins (ref pic)
- The healthy, lacy and tasty “CRACKED WHEAT DOSA” is ready to serve
NOTES/TIP:
- Adding onion, ginger, curry leaves are totally optional
- The dosa batter consistency should be watery otherwise the dosa turned like adai
- No need to ferment the batter
