MAA Vilaku

Ingredients

  • Raw rice – 1 cup
  • Jaggery – ½ cup
  • Cardamom powder – a generous pinch

LAMP

  • Kunkumam – as req
  • Ghee – 1 tsp
  • cotton wick – 2 nos

 Procedure

  •  Soak a cup of raw rice for an hour, drain the water completely and spread the rice over a muslin cloth under room temperature.

  • Once the rice about the dry completely, grind it finely using small mixie jar.

  • Transfer into a clean bowl add about half a cup of jaggery and a pinch of cardamom powder, rub nicely and form a ball shape. To achieve the lamp shape, press the center of the ball gently using lemon to get a dent.

  • Apply KUNKUMAM to the dent corners and pour a spoonful of ghee/ clarified butter and place a cotton wick over the ghee and lit the MAA VILAKKU LAMP.
