IDLI PODI:
Ingredients:
- Split chickpea/ kadalaparuppu – 1 cup
- Urad dhal- ½ cup
- Whole black pepper – 1 tblsp
- Dry red chili – 8-10 nos
- Dry curry leaves – handful
- Garlic – 5-6 nos
- Asafetida – 1 tsp
- Salt – as req
Procedure:
- In a pan dry roast all the ingredients except garlic, salt and asafetida in a medium-low flame.
- Cool to room temperature and grind the roasted ingredients coarsely/ finely depends on your wish.
- Add salt, garlic and asafetida towards the end
- Cool completely and store in a BPA Free plastic box or any clean container and you can keep this over kitchen counter for more than a month.
- Always use a dry spoon
