Vendaya Dosa

//Fenugreek/Methy DOSA//

Ingredients:

  • Idli rice – 2 cups
  • Methy seeds – 2 tblsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – as req

Procedure:

  • Wash and soak the rice and methy seeds separately
  • Grind the methy seeds first into fine paste and rice next
  • Finally add salt and mix both the mixture and grind it at once (ref Pic) and allow it to ferment min 6-8 hours

  • Take few scoops of the fermented batter (ref pic) and add required amount of water to make dosa

  • Heat the dosa pan and pour a ladle full of batter and spread it in clockwise Direction (do not spread wide and no need to add oil- ref pic)

  • Cover it with a lid and cook it for about 2 mins under medium flame
  • The super soft, sponge, tasty and healthy “VENDAYA DOSAI” is ready to serve

  • Best serve with mor kootu or with onion-tomato chutney

 

NOTES/TIP:

  • For best results, grind the batter on mixie
  •  you should allow the batter to ferment at least for 7-8 hours (or) depends on your weather; otherwise the dosa will turn bitter taste also rubbery
  • Do not store the batter for long days (1 or 2 days advisable)
