Ingredients:
- Cluster beans – 2 cups (1 inch length chopped)
- Onion – 1 (chopped finely)
- Tomato – 1 (chopped finely)
- Plain chili powder –1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Cooking oil – 2 tblsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Grated coconut – 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Procedure:
- Heat some oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds; allow it to splutter
- Now add the chopped onion and tomato along with some curry leaves, sauté it for a min and add salt, turmeric powder and chili powder; cook it for about a min
- Add the chopped cluster beans and mix well; add some water to cook the cluster beans.
- Between grind the coconut-cumin seeds into a fine paste
- Once the beans cooked 80%, add the coconut paste and mix well and cover it a lid and cook it for about 4 mins.
- The healthy and tasty “KOTHAVARANGAI/ CLUSTER BEANS PIRATTAL” is ready to serve.
- Serve with hot rice/ chapathi.
NOTE/TIP:
- You can add little more water for gravy consistency.
- You can also chop the cluster beans into the very small ½ inch size
