Jeerana Podi/ coriander seed Podi:
Ingredients:
- Coriander seeds – 1 cup
- Split channa dhal – ½ cup
- Urad dhal – ½ cup
- Whole pepper corns – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Salt – to taste.
Procedure:
- Dry roast the split channa dhal and urad dhal for about 4-5 mins or until the raw smell goes off and transfer it into a bowl
- Dry roast coriander seeds for about 2-3 mins under medium flame and transfer it into a bowl
- Dry roast the whole pepper and cumin seeds for about 1-2 mins under medium flame and transfer it into a bowl

- Cool completely and grind it coarse fine along with some salt.
- Healthy and tasty “Jeerana Podi” is ready.
Rice Mixing Procedure:
- Heat a tblsp of gingelly oil, add 2 tblsp of Jeerana Podi and fresh curry leaves, saute for a min and turn off the heat.
- Now add a cup of warm rice into the mixture and mix gently.
- Add salt if desired.
- Enjoy the healthy and tasty “Jeerana Podi Sadam/Rice” as it is or with some thuvayal.
Note:
- Store it in clean and dry glass/ air tight container for more shelf life
- You can keep this podi over the counter for more than 2 weeks.
- Always grind a small amount of podi varieties, so that you can enjoy the fresh taste and flavor.
- You can have this Jeerana podi weekly once, it will helps to improve your appetite and digestion.
- You can even take this podi during pregnancy.
