Puratasi Theertham

Ingredients:

  • Plain water – 2 cup
  • Holy basil/thulasi – 3-4 nos
  • Cardamom – 1 no
  • Clove/ lavangam – 2nos
  • Nutmeg/ Jathikai – a generous pinch
  • Edible camphor/ pachai karporam – a generous pinch
  • Saffron – 2-3 strands

Procedure:

  • In a pestle mortar, add cardamom, clove, nutmeg and saffron. Grind finely and keep aside.
  • In a large silver bpwl, add 2 cups of water. In that, add the grounded ingredients. Add a generous pinch of edible camphor and some fresh holy basil to the theertham.
  • Now Theertham is ready to perform the Pooja.

NOTE:

  • Don’t ever let the theertham spill in the floor.
  • Always use silver vessel to keep the theertham, those who don’t have silver vessel. Then use new and clean vessel.
