About Puratasi month and Pooja:
A very special month for Hindu-Tamilians and it is auspicious to “Lord Venkatachalapathy/Venkateswara”, it is believed that Lord came to Earth on this auspicious month. Special Pooja performed at “Tirumala-Thirupathi”. Vegetarians strictly follow NO-Onion/Garlic in their diet and NON-Vegetarians avoid taking non-veg during this month. Among all these days “Saturday” plays a pivotal role on the whole month. On every Saturday during this month, people offering special Pooja and food to the Lord, especially on 1st, 3rd and last Saturday so called “Puratasi Thaligai”.
On this special Pooja it is believed that, fasting on puratasi sani would please “Lord Sanieswarar” reduces his negativity and improves positivity towards good health and wealth.
You can either offer variety rices or NO-Onion/Garlic full meals, some of them proceed with Maa-vilaku, vada Mala during this special Pooja (it depends on your family customs)
