Idli Podi

IDLI PODI: 

Ingredients:

  • Split chickpea/ kadalaparuppu – 1 cup
  • Urad dhal- ½ cup
  • Whole black pepper – 1 tblsp
  • Dry red chili – 8-10 nos
  • Dry curry leaves – handful
  • Garlic – 5-6 nos
  • Asafetida – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as req

 Procedure:

  • In a pan dry roast all the ingredients except garlic, salt and asafetida in a medium-low flame.
  • Cool to room temperature and grind the roasted ingredients coarsely/ finely depends on your wish.
  • Add salt, garlic and asafetida towards the end
  • Cool completely and store in a BPA Free plastic box or any clean container and you can keep this over kitchen counter for more than a month.
  • Always use a dry spoon
