Coconut Ladoo

Ingredients:

  • Shredded Coconut – 1 cup
  • Granulated sugar – ¾ cup
  • Water – ¼ cup
  • Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Chopped cashews – 1 tblsp
  • Cardamom powder – a generous pinch

Procedure:

  • In a heavy bottomed pan add the sugar and water. Bring it to boil when it turn to about one string consistency, time to add the shredded coconut.
  • Stir continuously, at one stage it will form a mass ball. Turn off the flame and add a generous pinch of cardamom powder and finely chopped cashews to the mixture.
  • When the mixture is little warm, apply ghee on your palms and make balls out of it.

NOTE:

  • Adding nuts towards the end is optional.
  • Adding sugar depends on your taste.
  • You can store this ball into an air tight container at least for a week over the counter.
