Ingredients:
- French cut beans – 1 cup
- Salt – to taste
- Cooking oil – 2-3 tblsp
- Water – 1-2 tblsp
Spl masala:
- Coriander seeds – 1 tblsp
- Fresh ginger – 2 inches
- Fresh garlic – 6-8 cloves
- Black peppercorns – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Byadagi chili – 3-4 nos
Procedure:
How to do french cut?
Wash and trim the edges; cut the beans diagonally (ref pic) and repeat the same for the rest of the beans and keep aside.
- Grind all the spl masala ingredients into a coarse powder (without adding water – ref pic)
- Heat some oil in a pan and add the chopped beans; saute it for about 2 mins on high flame and add the coarsely grounded masala into it
- Mix well with required amount of salt and sprinkle about a tblsp of water and cover it with a lid and cook it for about 5 mins on medium flame (stir often to avoid scorching
- Now remove the lid off from the pan and cook it until done
- The super fast, easy, packed with full of flavorful “BEANS IDICHA CURRY” is ready to serve
- Serve it with a cup of hot rice
NOTES/TIP:
- Traditionally we do it with mortar and pestle; so we call it as “IDICHA CURRY”, you can even try it that method too
- You can still make this with regular chop method beans
- Adjust the chili and peppercorns as per your taste
- You can make this SPL MASALA method with any kind of veggies and NON-VEG too
