Beetroot Kara Curry

Ingredients:

  • Chopped Beets – 1 cup (heaped)
  • Chopped carrots – ½ cup (optional)
  • Pottukadalai podi – 1 tblsp
  • Jeerana Podi – 1 tsp
  • Plain red chili powder – ½ tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 2 tblsp
  • Cooking oil – 2 tblsp

Procedure:

  • Clean and cut the beets and carrots.(I have used both beets and carrots)
  • In a pan, heat some oil and add the chopped beets and carrots along with some salt and saute for a min or so.
  • Sprinkle some water and cover it with a lid and cook it further in a medium-low flame for about 5 mins.
  • Add plain red chili powder, 1 tblsp of pottukadalai podi and a tsp of jeerana podi over the beets and saute for a while. Finally toss it with half a tsp of roasted cumin powder.
  • Easy and super Spicy-Tasty “Beetroot Kara Currry” is ready to serve.
