Ingredients:
- Chopped Beets – 1 cup (heaped)
- Chopped carrots – ½ cup (optional)
- Pottukadalai podi – 1 tblsp
- Jeerana Podi – 1 tsp
- Plain red chili powder – ½ tsp
- Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Water – 2 tblsp
- Cooking oil – 2 tblsp
Procedure:
- Clean and cut the beets and carrots.(I have used both beets and carrots)
- In a pan, heat some oil and add the chopped beets and carrots along with some salt and saute for a min or so.
- Sprinkle some water and cover it with a lid and cook it further in a medium-low flame for about 5 mins.
- Add plain red chili powder, 1 tblsp of pottukadalai podi and a tsp of jeerana podi over the beets and saute for a while. Finally toss it with half a tsp of roasted cumin powder.
- Easy and super Spicy-Tasty “Beetroot Kara Currry” is ready to serve.
