Spicy Beans

Spicy Garden Fresh Beans:

Ingredients:

  • Chopped Beans – 1 cup (heaped)
  • Sundal podi – 1 tblsp
  • Plain red chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 2 tblsp
  • Grated coconut – ¼ cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cooking oil – 2 tblsp

Procedure:

  • Clean and cut the beans finely (I have used garden fresh handpicked Beans)
  • In a pan, heat some oil and add the chopped beans along with some salt and saute for a min or so.
  • Cover it with a lid and cook it further in a medium-low flame for about 5 mins.
  • Meanwhile, grind the grated coconut and cumin seeds coarsely, without adding water and keep aside.
  • Sprinkle about a tblsp of water and toss it gently
  • Add turmeric powder, plain red chili powder and a tblsp of sundal podi over the beans and saute for a while.
  • Sprinkle about a tblsp of water to avoid scorching and add the grounded coconut-cumin powder to the beans mixture.
  • Toss it gently for about a min or until it blend together.
  • Crunchy-grainy, Spicy Beans are ready to serve.
