Purple Cabbage Poriyal

Ingredients:

  • Purple Cabbage – 1 cup
  • Green chili – 2 nos
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • Grated coconut – 2 tblsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
  • Coconut oil – 1 tblsp
  • Salt – to taste

Procedure:

  • Thinly slice/ grate the cabbage and finely chop the green chilies
  • Heat the oil in pan, add some mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Allow it to splutter, later add the finely chopped green chilies and curry leaves.
  • Soon add the sliced/grated cabbage to the tempering mixture. Saute for few seconds.
  • Sprinkle some water along with required amount of salt and cover it with a lid.
  • Cook under medium flame, within 3-4 mins the cabbage will be ready. Add the freshly grated coconut and turn off the flame.
  • Bright and healthy “Purple cabbage poriyal” is ready to serve.
