Ingredients:
- Purple Cabbage – 1 cup
- Green chili – 2 nos
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Grated coconut – 2 tblsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
- Coconut oil – 1 tblsp
- Salt – to taste
Procedure:
- Thinly slice/ grate the cabbage and finely chop the green chilies
- Heat the oil in pan, add some mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Allow it to splutter, later add the finely chopped green chilies and curry leaves.
- Soon add the sliced/grated cabbage to the tempering mixture. Saute for few seconds.
- Sprinkle some water along with required amount of salt and cover it with a lid.
- Cook under medium flame, within 3-4 mins the cabbage will be ready. Add the freshly grated coconut and turn off the flame.
- Bright and healthy “Purple cabbage poriyal” is ready to serve.
