Milk Bread
Dry Ingredients
- All-purpose flour – 3 ½ cup
- Instant active yeast – 1 pack / 2 tsp
- Granulated sugar – 2 tblsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
Wet Ingredients
- Melted butter – 1 tblsp
- Milk – 1 cup (110 – 120 ˚F)
- Olive oil – 2 tblsp
For Greasing
- Softened butter – 1 tsp
- All-purpose flour – 1 tsp
Procedure
- Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 375˚ F and grease the Bread Loaf pan. Keep aside
- Step 2: In a small bowl instant dry yeast and sugar. Pour a cup of warm milk to the yeast mixture, mix well and keep aside. It will get activate within few seconds. Note: the milk should not be too hot, also make sure about the expiry date of the yeast too. These two will help you to activate the yeast on time. Once the yeast got activated you will able to see some frothy foam over the top of the yeast bowl.
- Step 3: Take another large bowl add other dry ingredients except the ½ cup of all-purpose flour. Add yeast mixture, oil and milk to the dry mixture. Mix well until dough forms a mass ball. Add the excess flour if desired, cover and rest the dough for 2 hrs for 1st proof.
- Step 4: Later, shape the dough according to your loaf pan size and cover the dough and rest for about 30-40 mins in room temperature (usually I keep under the oven with lights on) or until the dough rises about 1 inch tall for 2nd proof.
- Step 5: Bake it for 35 mins and apply some melted butter to the bread, before from the pan to cooling rack.

- Step 6: Allow it to rest for some time before slicing.
