Cheese Pizza
Dough Making
Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour – 2-3 cups
- Granulated sugar – ¾ tsp
- Instant Dry yeast – 1 pack
- Sooji / rava – 1 tblsp
- Salt – as required
- Olive oil – 1.5 tblsp + 1.5 tsp
- Water (room temp.) – 1 – 1.5 cups
Procedure:
- In a wide mixing bowl add all-purpose flour, salt; mix together. Keep this aside.
- In a small glass add about a cup of room temperature water along with 1 pack of instant dry yeast with a ¾ tsp of sugar. Stir well
- Pour the yeast mixture into the dry flour mixture along with 1.5 tblsp of olive oil. Knead gently.
- Take another wide bowl grease the bowl with some olive oil and place the dough and cover the bowl with plastic wrap and keep the dough in warm area, allow it to raise (double in size) about an hour or so.
- Take the dough into a lightly floured surface and divide it equally and cover it over kitchen towel / plastic wrap for about 10-15 mins
Pizza making process
Ingredients:
- Sooji / rava – 1 tblsp
- Olive oil – 1tsp
- Pizza base sauce – ¼ cup
- Mozzarella cheese – 1/4 cup
- Choice of cheese – ¼ cup
- Parmesan cheese – ¼ cup
- Dried Oregano – 1 tsp
- Chili flakes – ½ tsp
- Salt – ¼ tsp
Procedure:
PIZZA BASE SAUCE
- Poach some tomatoes and peel the skin off and grind it lightly.
- In a sauce pan pour some olive oil, add some minced garlic saute for a min, then add the crushed tomatoes.
- Cook it for few mins with some mixed herbs / oregano and salt. Once the oil ooze out from the sides of the pan, turn off the heat.
CHEESE PIZZA MAKING
- Take a 9 inch round or flat pan and dust it with some sooji / rava; then place once half of the dough and spread with your fingers gently and apply the pizza sauce first, followed by mozzarella cheese, additional choice of your cheese, herbs, salt and topped with some grated parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 mins or until the crust is lightly browned.
